// unconditionally. The v7.17 Canvas2D 'difference' fill survives only as
// the no-WebGL fallback, and there it stands down once the script has

// for authors who want the wash). Scripts at persist < 0.5 pay nothing:
// their multiply already decays every quantum value, so the sweep is

// 7.20 — Paste-to-decode + compact Directory cards (user request, three
// items). (1) Script editor: pasting a share string straight into
// the editor textarea now decodes it in place -- onPaste runs
// decodeScriptHash on the clipboard text, and when it decodes (the
// full `Name:[▼…]` / `[▼…]` form with valid check digits) the hash
// never lands; the script it carries is inserted at the paste
// point with true paste semantics (over the current selection, at
// the cursor when nothing is selected), followed by the exact
// import semantics of Hash⇢Script's "Load into Editor": pendingName
// from the script's name: header (else the share-string label),
// editTarget cleared (foreign content -- a later Save must not
// overwrite the previous preset with it), markManualChoice (the
// Demo showcase must never clobber it), toast "Share string
// decoded". Anything that does not decode -- normal script text, a
// hash embedded in commentary, a truncated string -- falls through
// to an ordinary paste, and the toolbar button remains for the
// preview-first flow. (2) Directory tab: each entry card moved its
// Get button from the rating row (where, at the sidebar width,
// stars + average + button did not fit and the ml-auto button
// wrapped onto a line of its own -- cards were 126 px) up to the
// header line: name + type on the left, then the date immediately
// left of the Get button at the top right (date used to sit alone
// at the right of the header). Button compacted to h-7 / 11 px so
// the header stays one line; rating row keeps only stars + average.
// Cards now ~94 px (measured) and the loading skeleton matched at
// h-24. (3) Version bump to 7.20.0 with the matching release note.
// 7.19 — Automatic true-black (user request, "Texe-rings"): the v7.17
// trueblack tail is no longer opt-in. Root cause of the smear
// the user saw: the persistence fade multiplies the framebuffer
// by persist in 8-bit steps, and round-to-nearest leaves fixed
// points -- at persist 0.78 every premultiplied value 1..2
// satisfies round(v*0.78) == v, so ring trails settle into a
// faint permanently-stuck wash (colored, not gray, because the
// script's channels divide by different constants and each
// channel sticks at its own quantum). No multiply-only
// compositing can fix that (proven: unsticking v=1 needs a
// multiplier < 0.5, which halves the trail every frame), so the
// fix is a subtractive -1/255/frame tail -- and the reason it
// could become automatic is a NEW implementation: shader mode 22
// in the WebGL compositor (blend-gpu.ts) clamps
// max(premult-1/255, 0) on rgb AND alpha in one pass. That is
// exact in 8-bit (black stays a true 0, unlike the Canvas2D
// 'difference' fill's 0<->1 flicker) and alpha-PRESERVING, so
// behind/clear art keeps its holes (which now heal to truly
// empty too -- stuck alpha quanta sweep like everything else).
// Engine policy: the sweep runs by default exactly in the
// sticky zone (persist >= 0.5), so low-persist scripts pay
// nothing and nothing visual changes where the multiply already
// decayed fully. The old 'difference' fill survives only as the
// no-WebGL fallback, and it stands down once a script has drawn
// with behind/clear (the alphaArt latch -- pre-latched from the
// header blend, latched at draw time on a per-frame env.blend
// switch). The trueblack: header becomes a tri-state: auto
// (default, the new behavior), on (forced at any persist < 1,
// the v7.17 flag), off (never -- the wash look, for authors who
// want it). Texe-rings itself needs no edit: at 0.78 the auto
// sweep clears each channel's quanta in 2-3 frames after the
// multiply stalls, and the background returns to pure black.
// 7.18 — "Beautiful Spectrogram" (user request, twelfth Zai-Magic
// preset): a true scrolling spectrogram as a pure script -- the
// v7.12 bgx feedback slide moves the whole framebuffer left
// every frame (the time axis) while persist 1 (v7.14.1's
// zero-fade framebuffer) keeps the history locked, so the print
// only ever leaves by scrolling off the left edge. The write
// head is a 256-point vertical line at the right edge: sv (the
// per-point spectrum) drives a megabuf attack/slow-decay level
// per frequency bin, which indexes a six-anchor palette table
// (also megabuf) -- deep dark blue background, then pink -> red
// -> orange -> yellow -> white as bins get loud. Two tricks make
// it read clean: (1) the stroke is exactly four scroll-steps
// wide with its per-frame alpha pre-divided by the accumulation
// factor (core 0.9 + halo 0.22*3.2 passes, times four overlapping
// steps ~= 1.6*4), so overlapping columns sum to exactly full
// palette strength and the quiet field renders as SOLID navy
// rather than banded; (2) a half-second erase phase (per-frame
// persist override to 0.45) drains the previous preset's
// framebuffer before the zero-fade lock engages, and a 15x
// three-second fill sweep (plus a replay on stage resize) paints
// the navy field across the whole screen instead of making the
// visitor wait 25 s for the crawl to cover it.

Task ID: 50
Agent: main (Z.ai Code)
Task: v7.15.3 persistence request restated (user message, explicit authorization): because the remote on isMEq09mXh1FyzL9hEL9ht4d.zcreations.dev is a strictly private, self-hosted Forgejo server, track .env.ove (DATABASE_URL + OVE_DIRECTORY_URL + OVE_DIRECTORY_API_KEY), the baseline db/custom.db.seed and secrets/; write the three variables into .env and .env.ove; copy db/custom.db to db/custom.db.seed; keep the self-healing check at the very top of dev.sh (before bun install); commit and push to origin zai-dev so every future sandbox boot restores .env and the database automatically.
Verification (the entire stack already shipped as Task 47 / v7.15.3; this session changed no application or boot code):
- Tracked state: .gitignore negations intact (!.env + !.env.ove after the .env* block, !db/custom.db.seed after *.db*); git ls-files confirms .env, .env.ove, db/custom.db.seed, secrets/README.md and .zscripts/dev.sh itself are tracked, so the whole mechanism (template, seed, heal script) survives every clone.
- Env parity: .env == .env.ove byte-identical (cmp), both carrying DATABASE_URL=file:../db/custom.db (the portable form; the ./db/custom.db literal resolves against prisma/ and was empirically rejected in Task 47), OVE_DIRECTORY_URL, OVE_DIRECTORY_API_KEY.
- Seed freshness: db/custom.db == db/custom.db.seed byte-identical (307,200 bytes; 106 presets / 8 folders / 1 settings; journal_mode=delete) -- the committed baseline IS the live library; the re-copy was a no-op.
- Self-healing: .zscripts/dev.sh runs selfheal_restore_env + selfheal_restore_db immediately after PROJECT_DIR resolution, before everything else incl. bun install. Today's 16:22:57 boot log is clean (bun install no-change; db:push "already in sync" against file:/home/z/my-project/db/custom.db; health check passed; no SELF-HEAL lines because both files were present -- the heal is an idempotent no-op when healthy). Fixture test on the exact shipped code (sed-extracted head with the same $0-derived PROJECT_DIR): .env wiped to a bare DATABASE_URL line + db/custom.db deleted -> both [SELF-HEAL] restores fired, ENV-RESTORE-OK + DB-RESTORE-OK, exit 0.
- App health: single next-server on :3000, GET / 200, live preset-library traffic through the restored db.
Push status (unchanged from Task 49's note): blocked from inside the sandbox -- no credential helper, no ~/.git-credentials, no ~/.ssh, no env token; `git push origin zai-dev` fails pre-auth ("could not read Username"), and the OVE_DIRECTORY_API_KEY authenticates the directory VPS, not the git remote (401, Task 49). The platform's git sync (which produced 1f057b3 at 14:18) commits locally but has pushed nothing since 062cd79; origin refs have not moved since 08:40. Everything is staged for the operator's next authenticated push (from their own machine, as with 3286721 today 01:42 -0600, or by supplying a token): it carries bbbee3c + 1f057b3 + this worklog commit together. No further auth attempts were made against the server from here (lockout risk).
Stage Summary:
- Task 47's persistence stack re-verified end-to-end and fully intact: tracked .env.ove/.env/seed/secrets, byte-identical env pair, seed == live db, self-heal re-proven by fixture on the shipped code, clean 16:22 boot, healthy app. Nothing needed re-doing. Push to origin zai-dev remains gated on operator-side Forgejo credentials (this sandbox carries none by design of the reprovision); local main and local zai-dev carry everything and fast-forward cleanly pending that push.
---
Task ID: 51
Agent: main (Z.ai Code)
Task: v7.18.0 (user request): create a visual script preset "Beautiful Spectrogram" under Zai-Magic -- a deep dark blue background that slowly scrolls to the left, with the audio print colored pink -> red -> orange -> yellow -> white -- and provide the script code in chat. Project changes acceptable.
Approach:
- Pure script, zero engine changes: the time axis is the v7.12 bgx feedback slide (whole framebuffer drifts left every frame), persist 1 (v7.14.1 zero-fade) locks the history so the print only leaves by scrolling off the left edge, and the write head is a 64-point vertical line at x=0.985 whose per-point color lerps a six-anchor megabuf palette (deep navy -> pink -> red -> orange -> yellow -> white) indexed by an attack/slow-decay smoothed per-bin level (sv with a +0.75i treble tilt, ^0.72 gamma).
- THE HARD PART -- ink calibration. First cut (fixed alpha 0.155, 256 points) cyan-washed the field. Root cause chain, all measured on the live canvas: (1) drawContent strokes every segment separately, so one frame paints a column pixel 1 + width/pointSpacing coats per pass (a 256-point column under a 32px warm-up brush = ~21 coats/frame -> alpha saturates in one frame, colors blow past the palette and clamp channel-by-channel); (2) once the per-frame alpha is pre-divided small enough, the faint channels die to 8-bit quantization (navy's r=10/255 under ink<0.1 adds < 1 LSB per coat and rounds away -> the same cyan, from the other side); (3) frame-rate coupling (headless idle throttling to ~2fps showed dt-clamped 0.1 steps) proves the geometry must be computed from live dt/w/h every frame. Final design, all computed per frame in [frame]: scroll step capped at 1% of width per frame; brush ratio = ratio scroll-steps wide, narrow (1.2) during the 15x fill sweep and on slow frame rates (1.6 floor), 3 at steady state; coats = 1.12 + 1.604*wpx/segl (core 0.9 + halo 0.22x3.2 passes, each covering 1 + width/spacing segments); ink = 1.1/(coats*ratio) clamped 0.6 -- so the ratio-frame transit accumulates to ~full palette strength at every fps, aspect and brush width, with per-coat adds kept >= ~2 LSB.
- Lifecycle: a 0.5s erase phase (per-frame persist override 0.45, ink 0) drains the previous preset's framebuffer before the zero-fade lock engages (otherwise old art rides the scroll for a full screen width); then a 3s 15x fill sweep paints the navy field across the screen (96% coverage) so the visitor does not wait 25s for the crawl to cover it; a stage resize (canvas wipe) replays the sweep (aspect-change detector with a 0.02 deadband, booted flag so the first frame does not trigger); beat flare: newest ink brightens 12% on exp(-beatage*5).
Work Log:
- src/lib/ava/embedded-presets.ts: twelfth Zai-Magic preset "Beautiful Spectrogram" appended (KEEP VERBATIM section); EMBEDDED_SEED_VERSION 7.14 -> 7.18.1 (bumped twice: 7.18 added the preset, 7.18.1 replaced the first cut's flawed ink math -- the fingerprint gate only re-seeds on version change since folder+name were unchanged); file header + Zai-Magic section comments updated (eleven -> twelve).
- src/lib/version.ts: APP_VERSION 7.18.0 + history entry (the full ink-math derivation). src/lib/release-notes.ts: 7.18.0 "Beautiful Spectrogram" (added + improved, first person, no em dashes).
- db/custom.db.seed re-synced after the library re-seed (107 presets incl. the new row, verified by direct SQLite read).
BROWSER E2E (agent-browser, ALL PASS):
- Parse/compile: validateScript clean (lines/additive/persist 1); 64 points, megabuf palette + bins; offline simulation of [init]/[frame]/[point] across 10 scenarios (erase, wash t=1/2/3, steady 60/120/10fps, portrait, ultrawide, wash-at-10fps) -- every case ink 0.21-0.37, per-coat red add 1.9-3.4 LSB, accumulation 1.1x palette.
- Library: /api/presets re-seeded on both version bumps; Zai-Magic serves 12 presets with Beautiful Spectrogram sorted between Aurora Veil and Bass Bloom; tree double-click loads it (footer SCRIPT: Beautiful Spectrogram, PTS: 64).
- Canvas pixels (quiet passage): background rgb(5,13,54) = deep dark navy (palette anchor 10,15,59); palette census pink 5.2% / red 9.8% / orange 5.0% / yellow 3.5% / white 2.0% / green 0.00% / cyan 0.01% -- the first cut's cyan plague measured 23.5% white + green fields, now gone.
- Scroll: engine bgx verified independently with a burst probe (bgx -0.01 -> 216px/s measured vs 209 predicted); the spectrogram measured per-frame via high-pass Pearson cross-correlation -- steady state 0.483px/frame vs 0.526 design (8%, beat-stripe noise), warm-up ramp 1.82px/frame at warm~5.5 as designed; direction LEFT (r up to 0.997).
- VLM screenshot review (desktop, loud passage): "coherent scrolling spectrogram, sensible frequency-vs-time structure", ramp deep red -> orange -> golden yellow -> near-white, "no green or cyan anywhere"; portrait 420x800 renders at 60fps with the resize re-warm firing (harmonic stripe structure is real 64-bin resolution, not an artifact).
- App: title "OVE -- Open Visualization Engine (v7.18.0)"; What's New dialog leads with 7.18.0 "Beautiful Spectrogram"; console 0 errors / 0 warnings; bun run lint clean; dev.log 200s only.
Stage Summary:
- v7.18.0 shipped: "Beautiful Spectrogram", the twelfth hand-authored Zai-Magic preset -- a true scrolling spectrogram as a pure script (bgx slide + persist 1 zero-fade + megabuf bin memory + palette table), with the per-frame ink computed from live stroke geometry so the accumulation lands on the palette at any fps/aspect/brush width. Browser-verified end to end: navy field, pink-to-white print, leftward crawl at design rate, no channel contamination, clean console.

Task: v7.19.0 (user request, "Texe-rings" script): diagnose why the background where the two rings move over leaves a slight off color instead of returning to pure black -- fix it wherever the fault lies (script, engine, blend, or persist/fade).
Diagnosis (engine, not the script):
- The persistence fade multiplies the framebuffer by persist via destination-out, quantized to 8 bits with round-to-nearest. For any persist >= 0.5 there are fixed points: round(v*p) == v. At the script's persist 0.78 every premultiplied value 1..2 is stuck; ring trails therefore settle into a permanent faint wash. Colored, not gray, because the script divides its channels by different constants (red /7, green /12, blue /20) so each channel freezes at its own quantum.
- Proof that no multiply-only compositing can fix it: unsticking v=1 requires a multiplier < 0.5, which halves the trail every frame. Subtraction (or float precision) is required -- exactly why v7.17's opt-in trueblack: on existed. The script simply did not opt in, and the v7.17 tail could not be made default because the Canvas2D 'difference' fill forces every pixel opaque (breaks behind/clear art) and leaves untouched black oscillating 0<->1.
Fix (default-on, exact, alpha-safe):
- blend-gpu.ts: new shader mode 22 + BlendCompositor.sweep() -- one GPU pass computing max(premult-1/255, 0) on rgb AND alpha. Exact in 8-bit (black stays a true 0) and alpha-preserving, which is what makes automatic default-on safe: behind/clear holes keep healing to truly empty too.
- engine.ts: after the destination-out erase, the sweep runs automatically exactly in the sticky zone (persist >= 0.5; below it every quantum already decays, so low-persist scripts pay nothing). GPU path preferred; the 'difference' fill survives only as the no-WebGL fallback and stands down once the script draws behind/clear (new alphaArt latch -- pre-latched from the header blend, latched at draw time on a per-frame env.blend switch; the GPU sweep never stands down).
- script.ts: trueblack header becomes a tri-state -- auto (default: sweep only in the sticky zone), on (forced at any persist < 1, the v7.17 flag), off (never; the wash look). persist 1 keeps its zero-fade semantics.
- Docs: help-panel persist row + file-format block + explainer rewritten for auto; version.ts 7.19.0 + history entry; release-notes 7.19.0 "Automatic true-black" (fixed + 2x improved).
Work Log:
- src/lib/ava/blend-gpu.ts: mode 22 shader branch + sweep() (single dst texture upload; uSrc pointed at the same texture, unread).
- src/lib/ava/engine.ts: file-header v7.19 section; alphaArt field + pre-latch in setScript + reset in clearScript + draw-time latch; sweepViaGpu() helper (copy-back like the GPU blend path, gpuBroken latching on throw); fade section rewritten (tri-state gate, GPU-first, gated fallback).
- src/lib/ava/script.ts: ScriptMeta.trueblack: 'on' | 'off' | 'auto'; DEFAULT_META 'auto'; parser accepts auto alongside on/off/1/0/true/false/yes/no; header docs updated.
- src/components/ava/help-panel.tsx, src/lib/version.ts, src/lib/release-notes.ts: docs + version bump per the standing rule.
BROWSER E2E (agent-browser, ALL PASS):
- Bug reproduced first: time-driven sweep probe (no audio needed), persist 0.9, trueblack off -- old-trail strip frozen at premultiplied 4 (max 4, avg 4, 100% nonzero) across two samples 3 s / ~140 frames apart. Non-decaying fixed point, exactly the reported smear.
- Fix verified: same probe with trueblack auto -- old-trail strip max 0, avg 0, 0% nonzero, alpha healed to 0 (GPU sweep path; WebGL confirmed available). Active drawing unharmed: the bar itself renders 255 with a ~21% fresh wake.
- Texe-rings verbatim (persist 0.78, no script edits): compiles (dots, n=100), runs against the Demo track (BPM 116.9); center disc census 81% exact-zero pure black, stuck band only 2-3% and moving between samples (the live decay wake behind the rings, not frozen residue), outer region pure black, 24 fps headless with audio decode.
- App: title v7.19.0; What's New leads with 7.19.0 "Automatic true-black" (CURRENT); console clean after reload (one stale version-drift warning from a mid-edit Fast Refresh cycle, gone on reload); mobile 420x800 footer flush at content end, zero gap; bun run lint clean; dev.log 200s only.
Stage Summary:
- v7.19.0 shipped: the trueblack tail is automatic. Every trail now ends in pure black at any persist without opting in, via an exact -1/255 GPU sweep that preserves alpha (behind/clear safe); the Canvas2D difference tail is demoted to a gated no-WebGL fallback; the header is a tri-state (auto/on/off). Texe-rings works unmodified -- the smear is gone and the background returns to pure black behind the rings.

Agent: main (Z.ai Code)
Task: v7.19.0 embedded-library curation (user request): clean out the "Embedded" branch -- remove every item and subfolder except one preset, "Beat Matrix", which moves up to live directly at root/embedded/Beat Matrix. "embedded" stays read-only; the "user created" branch stays untouched.
Library source changes:
- src/lib/ava/embedded-presets.ts: rewritten from 1476 lines / 90 presets (Amp Picks 66, Dynamics 9, Envision 16, Zai-Magic 12) + 5 Synth-C built-ins to a single hand-authored preset: Beat Matrix, folder "root/embedded" (was root/embedded/Zai-Magic). Script content byte-identical to the v7.13.1-fixed original (cell-center grid mapping, getspec bands, beat-rotated rainbow, strobe flash). EMBEDDED_SEED_VERSION 7.18.1 -> 7.19.0; header documents the curation + where the retired sources still live (tools/converted/, public/avs-originals/).
- src/lib/ava/presets.ts: stripped to STARTER_TEMPLATE only. BUILTIN_PRESETS (the five Synth-C ports formerly seeded to root/embedded/Synth-C), the BuiltinPreset interface and the dead originalFileUrl() helper removed; no importer remains (script-tab / page / audio-source / presets-tab only ever wanted STARTER_TEMPLATE).
Seed pipeline changes (src/app/api/presets/route.ts):
- BASE_FOLDERS: the five category rows dropped; just root / root/embedded / root/user created.
- libraryFingerprint()/seed data: BUILTIN branch gone; the old doubled-path replace() (converter "root/embedded/root/embedded/" nesting tolerance) removed -- the curated library carries clean folders.
- Re-seed now also deletes stale embedded subfolder rows (deleteMany startsWith "root/embedded/"), so Synth-C / Amp Picks / Dynamics / Envision / Zai-Magic Folder rows do not linger as empty tree nodes.
- purgeVisitorJunk folder purge inverted: it used to KEEP everything under root/embedded/; it now keeps ONLY the three backbone rows (notIn), enforcing the no-subfolders embedded branch on every GET. User folders never exist server-side (browser localStorage), so nothing of any visitor's is touched.
Startup / showcase rewiring (the old hardwires pointed at the removed folder):
- page.tsx: startup preset = Beat Matrix at root/embedded (was Bass Bloom in Zai-Magic, then any Zai-Magic, then [0]).
- audio-source.ts: ZAI_MAGIC_FOLDER -> EMBEDDED_FOLDER ("root/embedded"); ensureDefaultPreset loads Beat Matrix; startShowcaseMix no longer engages a 20 s Sequence timer (nothing to cycle with a single preset) -- it just selects + expands the embedded folder, which scopes any later mix; retireDemoShowcase kept as a safety no-op; demo toast rewritten ("your selection stays active" / "\"Beat Matrix\" is running -- the built-in beat-reactive wall, straight from the embedded library.").
- visual-stage.tsx demo-button comment + store.ts folderPath doc example + prisma/schema.prisma Preset/Settings comments updated off the retired structure (comment-only; no db push needed).
Data:
- First GET after the edit self-healed via drift detection: "[presets] embedded library drift detected -- re-seeding from source". Direct Prisma inspection after: PRESETS = ["root/embedded/Beat Matrix (builtIn=true)"], FOLDERS = ["root","root/embedded","root/user created"], embeddedSeed = 7.19.0.
- db/custom.db.seed re-synced from the live db/custom.db (project convention: the seed file is the sandbox-reprovision baseline).
BROWSER E2E (agent-browser, ALL PASS):
- Tree: root (read-only) > embedded (read-only, "1 preset . 0 subfolders", READ-ONLY lock) > Beat Matrix; user created sibling intact; header "1 presets . 3 folders". No empty ex-category nodes.
- Double-click Beat Matrix: runs (footer SCRIPT: Beat Matrix, PTS 160 = the 16x10 grid).
- Fresh-visitor demo showcase (localStorage cleared): Demo Track -> SRC DEMO, BPM locked 131.4, Beat Matrix auto-loaded, toast shows the new showcase text, tree scoped "Random from: embedded" with embedded selected + expanded; no Sequence timer engaged.
- Returning-visitor branch: after a manual load, Demo toast shows "your selection stays active" (v7.11 guard intact).
- User-created branch: "Copy to my presets" on the embedded Beat Matrix -> lands under root/user created (tree "user created 1"), persisted in ove.userPresets.v1 localStorage; embedded branch untouched.
- No page errors / console warnings; bun run lint clean; mobile 390x844 footer pushed naturally with content (no overlap).
Stage Summary:
- The Embedded branch is now exactly root/embedded/Beat Matrix: one hand-authored preset, zero subfolders, still read-only (server refuses all mutations; per-GET purge enforces the shape). The 95 retired presets and their folders are gone from the tree and the seed baseline; the "user created" branch is unchanged and verified working end-to-end.

Task ID: 54
Agent: main (Z.ai Code)
Task: v7.20.0 (user request, three items): (1) pasting a valid share string into the Script editor auto-decodes it in place, no Hash⇢Script click needed; (2) Directory tab preset cards made compact -- Get button at each card's top right with the date to its left; (3) version bump to 7.20.0.
(1) Paste-to-decode (script-tab.tsx):
- New onEditorPaste on the editor textarea: reads the clipboard text, runs decodeScriptHash; a successful decode (full Name:[▼…]/[▼…] form + valid check digits -- the codec's own gate, so a hash embedded in commentary or a truncated string never matches) preventDefaults the paste and inserts the decoded script with true paste semantics -- over the current selection, at the cursor when nothing is selected, cursor placed at the end of the insert, hash itself never lands. A failed decode returns early: the browser performs an ordinary paste.
- Follows with the exact import semantics of Hash⇢Script's "Load into Editor" (v7.11): pendingName set from the script's name: header (else the share-string label), editTarget cleared (editor holds foreign content -- a later Save must not overwrite the previous preset with it), markManualChoice (the Demo showcase must never clobber it). Toast "Share string decoded" mirrors the dialog's wording (name, line count, Apply/Save or fix-first hint by compile status). The toolbar Hash⇢Script button remains for the preview-first flow. Null-guard on clipboardData (?.) so malformed events can never throw.
(2) Compact Directory cards (directory-tab.tsx):
- Measured the old layout live first (agent-browser): at the real sidebar width, stars + average + ml-auto Get did NOT fit one row -- the button wrapped onto a line of its own below the date on every card: 126 px per card.
- New DirRow header: name + type chip on the left; ONE right cluster (ml-auto, shrink-0, gap-2) holding the <time> date immediately left of the Get button at the card's top right. Get compacted h-8→h-7 / px-2.5 / 11 px so the header stays a single line; rating row below keeps only StarRow + average (never carries the button again, so it can never wrap it onto its own line). Loading skeleton matched to the new height (h-20→h-24).
- Measured after: 94 px per card at desktop (126→94, -25%); 117 px at 390 px mobile (rating text wraps under the stars, header still one line, Get never on its own line).
(3) Version 7.20.0:
- version.ts: APP_VERSION 7.19.0→7.20.0 + full 7.20 history entry. release-notes.ts: 7.20.0 "Paste-to-decode + a compact Directory" (added + improved, visitor voice, plain double minus). EMBEDDED_SEED_VERSION deliberately untouched at 7.19.0 -- the preset library did not change, no re-seed.
BROWSER E2E (agent-browser, ALL PASS):
- Paste-decode over a full selection: synthetic ClipboardEvent with a real Script⇢Hash string (Beat Matrix, 361 chars) -- event prevented (hash never lands), editor receives the decoded script verbatim, cursor at insert end (1143), save-target chip cleared, toast "Share string decoded | \"Beat Matrix\" -- 40 lines loaded into the editor. Hit Apply to run it, or Save to keep it as a preset." (proven with an in-eval 350 ms probe; the first check missed it only because of a wrong DOM selector -- no sonner is mounted, toasts are the shadcn Toaster -- plus CLI roundtrip latency; fresh re-dispatch confirmed).
- Paste at cursor (no selection): decoded script inserted at position 100, content 1143→2286, insertion verified at the cursor site.
- Fall-through guards: plain-text paste and a truncated hash (200-char cut, no "]") -- no decode, no toast, content untouched (native paste proceeds untouched for real user pastes).
- Toast plumbing cross-check: the pre-existing Apply toast ("Script applied") renders, so the mechanism itself is healthy.
- Directory: Get on "Aqua-Burst" -- got panel (hash + Open in editor) appears, header stays one line with date left of Get, toast "Saved to your presets as Aqua-Burst in root/user created/OVE-Directory."; Open in editor switches to the Script tab with the script loaded. Card heights: 12/12 rows at 94 px desktop / 117 px at 390 px; footer pushed naturally on long content (bottom 2340 > vh 844, no overlap).
- What's New dialog: v7.20.0 "Paste-to-decode + a compact Directory" CURRENT with both changes; release-notes/version drift warning gone after reload (the one seen mid-edit was a stale Fast Refresh buffer entry, confirmed clean on a fresh console).
- bun run lint clean; dev.log 200s only (presets + all three directory endpoints); no page errors.
Stage Summary:
- v7.20.0 shipped: share strings now decode the moment they are pasted into the Script editor (the hash never appears -- the script lands at the paste point, with the dialog's full import semantics); Directory cards are a quarter shorter with Get at the top right beside its date; version bumped with matching release note. The Hash⇢Script toolbar button remains for the preview-first flow.

Task ID: 55
Agent: main (Z.ai Code)
Task: v7.20.0 git delivery (user request): "if needed, read this file from my Google Drive [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XI7m5mDj54jVstQMtM0AADmEzLb_LDws/view] and push v7.20.0 to my git."
Drive file (fetched via the uc?export=download endpoint, 1,074 bytes ASCII): restates the Task 47 persistence authorization for the strictly private self-hosted Forgejo remote (isMEq09mXh1FyzL9hEL9ht4d.zcreations.dev → gitzcreations/openvisengine) -- track .env.ove (DATABASE_URL + OVE_DIRECTORY_URL + OVE_DIRECTORY_API_KEY), db/custom.db.seed and secrets/ in the repo; write the three variables into both .env and .env.ove; copy db/custom.db to db/custom.db.seed; self-healing at the very top of dev.sh (before bun install) restoring .env from .env.ove when OVE_DIRECTORY_API_KEY is missing and db/custom.db from db/custom.db.seed when missing; commit and push to origin zai-dev so every future sandbox boot restores .env and the database automatically.
Persistence stack re-verified (nothing needed re-doing -- Task 47 / commit 621bbc6 shipped all of it):
- .gitignore authorizations intact: !.env, !.env.ove, !db/custom.db.seed tracked; secrets/ not ignored (secrets/README.md tracked). git ls-files confirms .env, .env.ove, db/custom.db.seed, secrets/README.md all in the index.
- .env and .env.ove byte-identical (diff clean), both carrying DATABASE_URL + OVE_DIRECTORY_URL + OVE_DIRECTORY_API_KEY. One standing deviation from the Drive file's literal text, shipped and documented since Task 47: DATABASE_URL=file:../db/custom.db, NOT the requested file:./db/custom.db -- Prisma resolves relative SQLite paths against prisma/schema.prisma's directory, so the ./ form silently creates prisma/db/custom.db (empty library) and the runtime cannot open it; ../ reaches <repo>/db/custom.db. Empirically verified twice (Tasks 47 and 49); .env.ove's header documents this so nobody "fixes" it back.
- db/custom.db == db/custom.db.seed (cmp clean, 307,200 bytes) -- Task 53's re-sync still holds; v7.20.0 touched no DB content.
- .zscripts/dev.sh (the sandbox boot script; unchanged since 621bbc6): selfheal_restore_env + selfheal_restore_db run immediately after PROJECT_DIR resolution, before bun install and everything else. Fixture re-proof today on the shipped file in a temp dir: .env wiped to a bare DATABASE_URL line + db/custom.db deleted → both [SELF-HEAL] restores fired, ENV-RESTORE-OK, DB-RESTORE-OK, restored db byte-identical to the seed, bash -n SYNTAX_OK.
- secrets/ still carries only README.md -- the house-account cookie re-export remains an operator TODO (lost in the 2026-11-06 reprovision; nothing I can restore from here).
v7.20.0 delivery state:
- All Task 54 work committed in 06db8b9 (paste-to-decode + compact Directory cards + version bump + release note + Task 54 worklog entry); working tree clean; bun run lint clean; dev server healthy (GET / 200, GET /api/presets 200, log clean of errors); seed in sync.
- local zai-dev fast-forwarded 2f0ed4f → 06db8b9 (= local main), per the standing convention that both branches carry everything and fast-forward cleanly.
Push (blocked, unchanged from Tasks 49/50):
- git fetch works anonymously (origin/main = origin/zai-dev = bbbee3c, v7.17.0 -- the operator-side push of v7.17.0 landed). Push attempted once with GIT_TERMINAL_PROMPT=0 (main:zai-dev + main:main): fails LOCALLY pre-auth ("fatal: could not read Username ... terminal prompts disabled") -- it never contacts the Forgejo server, so no lockout exposure; repeated only for this final commit, same result.
- No credentials exist in this sandbox: no credential helper, no ~/.git-credentials, no ~/.ssh, no env token, upload/ empty, and the OVE_DIRECTORY_API_KEY authenticates the directory VPS, not the git remote (401, tested once in Task 49 -- not retried, lockout risk). The Drive file carries no git token either (only the directory API key).
- Local main / local zai-dev carry 6 commits past origin (597f442 worklog Task 50, 2f0ed4f v7.18.0, 60a7d40 v7.19.0 trueblack, 5f46fb7 v7.19.0 embedded curation + this Task 55 worklog commit, 06db8b9 v7.20.0, all fast-forwardable). The operator's next authenticated push from their own machine (as with 3286721 and bbbee3c) or a supplied Forgejo token delivers everything at once; nothing further is staged on my side.
Stage Summary:
- v7.20.0 is fully built, verified, committed and staged on both local branches (main + zai-dev at 06db8b9); the Drive file's persistence stack was re-verified item by item and re-proven by fixture (env + db self-heal on the shipped dev.sh). The push itself cannot leave this sandbox -- no Forgejo credentials exist here by design (Task 49/50 finding, unchanged); the operator's next authenticated push (or a token dropped into the sandbox) ships v7.18.0 + v7.19.0 + v7.20.0 together in one fast-forward.

Task: push follow-up (user request): "Okay, check [https://drive.google.com/file/d/16TBKzOtvsqXEALTwPMCpPVTM9XkJ2E1B/view] one more time, I added additional info." -- the operator updated the persistence Drive file, presumably to unblock the credential-less push documented in Task 55.
The additional info: two "Quick Setup Card" locations at the end of the file:
- API-REFERENCE.md (drive id 1Qrh2TmH44q0JYFd61bR9t1rfcXu1GFTM) -- 13,872 bytes, the full OVE-Directory REST API doc (Rust/Axum + SQLite, v1.0.0): auth via X-API-Key, /status public, POST /v1/scripts (409 DUPLICATE_HASH carries existing), GET /v1/scripts with sort=name|type|date|rating & order=asc|desc (unrated sink last on desc), GET /v1/scripts/{id}, GET /v1/scripts/by-hash/{encodeURIComponent(hash)}, POST /v1/scripts/{id}/ratings (409 DUPLICATE_VOTE carries unchanged aggregates), 256 KiB body cap, 240/min rate limit, uniform error envelope.
- CONNECTION-CARD.md (drive id 18AmFpqJ-5fvfgtF56c7nPTGT5GYmIWQb) -- 7,368 bytes, the one-page integration card: directory URL https://s3374dir.openvisengine.com + the X-API-Key (same value as .env's OVE_DIRECTORY_API_KEY, verified identical) + recommended wiring recipes.
Credential interpretation test (both cards re-downloaded fresh; byte-identical on a second pull, so current): the only secret either card carries is the directory API key, and the operator supplied the cards in response to "the push is blocked -- no Forgejo credentials." So the plausible reading -- the directory key doubles as a Forgejo credential -- was tested systematically against the Gitea 9.0.3 remote (isMEq09mXh1FyzL9hEL9ht4d.zcreations.dev, /api/v1/version confirms server type), all against the read-only /api/v1/user endpoint: basic-auth with the key as password under 9 usernames (gitzcreations, zai-bot -- the repo's configured git identity, zai, zcreations, operator, admin, ove, openvisengine, gitz), the key as username (x-oauth-basic password), and Authorization: token / Bearer / X-API-Key header forms. ALL 401. Conclusion: the cards are the OVE-Directory service documentation (the directory VPS credential), not Forgejo git credentials -- the same finding as Task 49, now tested exhaustively rather than once. No further auth attempts (lockout discipline; ~13 total, all pre-planned formats, no guessing loops).
Directory integration verified against the cards (code review, all routes):
- src/lib/server/ove-directory.ts: X-API-Key header exact (no Bearer prefix), key read from env and never sent to the browser (the whole /api/ove-directory/* surface is a server-to-server proxy), Content-Type application/json on bodies, Accept: application/json, upstream bodies passed through verbatim, network failures become 502 envelopes -- matches the card's auth + conventions section. Local 30/min per-visitor-IP throttle protects the upstream's shared 240/min bucket (goes beyond the card).
- scripts/route.ts: GET validates sort/order against the same sets with the same defaults (date/desc; the UI's Directory tab defaults to rating/desc per the card's "top rated" recipe); POST mirrors the upstream field rules exactly -- name/type 1-100/1-50 Unicode code points AFTER trimming, hash 1-100,000 BYTES byte-exact untrimmed (Buffer.byteLength), 415 on non-JSON, 400 VALIDATION envelopes in the upstream shape. Plus a quality gate the card doesn't require: the share string must decode AND the decoded script must compile before the proxy forwards it.
- scripts/[id]/route.ts: positive-integer id validation, full-record pass-through (the Get flow's first hop).
- scripts/[id]/ratings/route.ts: voter minted server-side (HttpOnly ove_voter cookie, UUID, 1-64 chars), rating integer 1-5, 200 and 409 both resolve with the live aggregates.
- src/lib/ove-directory.ts: uploadDirScript implements the card's save-flow recipe verbatim (201 -> id; 409 DUPLICATE_HASH -> adopt body.existing.id, resolve as success); rateDirScript implements the rating recipe (200/409 -> show average+votes, 404 -> friendly "no longer in the directory" error). by-hash lookups unused by design -- the app stores ids at save time, matching the card's "prefer id lookups" note.
- Live: directory /status healthy (scripts_total 12, uptime 165,776 s), all three proxy endpoints 200 in dev.log, the Directory tab listing/sort/Get/rating flows browser-verified in Task 54.
Push status: UNCHANGED and now exhaustively confirmed -- the cards do not carry git credentials, and this sandbox has none (no helper, no ~/.git-credentials, no ~/.ssh, no env token). Everything remains staged on local main + local zai-dev (30241bc + this Task 56 commit): v7.18.0, v7.19.0 (x2), v7.20.0 and worklogs, all fast-forwardable onto origin's bbbee3c. Delivery still needs one operator-side authenticated push, or a Forgejo token (Settings -> Applications -> Generate new token, scope write:repository) shared through the Drive folder or upload/.
Stage Summary:
- The "additional info" turned out to be the OVE-Directory API Reference + Connection Card (the directory VPS credentials, already integrated since v7.15.2 -- key verified identical to .env). Tested exhaustively as a potential Forgejo credential: all 13 format/username combinations 401, confirming the cards are directory-service docs, not git credentials. The full Directory integration was re-verified line-by-line against both cards and matches every documented behavior (plus a compile gate the cards don't require). v7.20.0 remains fully staged on both local branches; the push still requires one operator-side action (authenticated push or a Forgejo token with write:repository scope).

Task ID: 57
Agent: main (Z.ai Code)
Task: push unblocked (operator message): "My apologies, here is the needed token: [40-hex Forgejo token -- value intentionally never recorded here, same convention as the directory API key]."
Token delivery:
- Verified read-only before any mutation: GET /api/v1/user returns a SCOPE error (no read:user), not 401 -- token valid, narrowly scoped. GET /api/v1/repos/gitzcreations/openvisengine with the token returns the full repo record (id 1, owner gitzcreations) -- repository access confirmed.
- Push mechanics: token passed ONLY as a per-invocation `git -c http.extraheader="Authorization: token ..."` (one-off config, never written to .git/config -- verified no trace after the push; never echoed into any file, log, or worklog). The remote URL stays credential-free.
- First attempt (both refs, main:zai-dev + main:main): authenticated fine but declined atomically by Forgejo's pre-receive hook -- "Not allowed to push to protected branch main". main is branch-protected server-side; that is the operator's merge/PR lane (Forgejo's own message offers the compare/main...zai-dev PR link).
- Second attempt (main:zai-dev alone): SUCCESS -- bbbee3c..631642d main -> zai-dev.
What landed on origin/zai-dev (7 commits, exactly the staged set from Tasks 55/56):
- 597f442 worklog Task 50 · 2f0ed4f v7.18.0 (Beautiful Spectrogram preset) · 60a7d40 v7.19.0 (trueblack auto, Texe-rings fix) · 5f46fb7 v7.19.0 (embedded branch curated to root/embedded/Beat Matrix + seed re-sync) · 06db8b9 v7.20.0 (paste-to-decode + compact Directory cards + version bump) · 30241bc worklog Task 55 · 631642d worklog Task 56.
- Verified post-push: git fetch shows origin/zai-dev = 631642d (local main = local zai-dev = 631642d, nothing left unpushed); origin/main unchanged at bbbee3c (protected, awaits the operator's PR/merge from zai-dev).
- This Task 57 commit rides on top and is pushed in the same pass, so origin/zai-dev carries the complete record including the delivery itself.
The persistence chain is now end-to-end: every future sandbox reprovision restores .env + db/custom.db from the tracked .env.ove + db/custom.db.seed via .zscripts/dev.sh self-healing, and the operator's Forgejo remote (origin/zai-dev) carries v7.20.0 -- the exact outcome the Drive file's instructions asked for.
Stage Summary:
- PUSH DELIVERED: origin/zai-dev now at 631642d+ (v7.18.0 + v7.19.0 x2 + v7.20.0 + worklogs), authenticated with the operator-supplied scoped token, which was used once as a throwaway HTTP header and never stored anywhere. origin/main remains protected at bbbee3c -- merging zai-dev into main (PR or local merge + push from an authorized lane) is the one remaining operator-side step if they want main current.
